Gift Supports Ministry and Provides Income

Growing up in rural Nebraska, Alma learned early to be a good steward and support the work of the church through her tithes and offerings. In the later years of her life, she still has a strong desire to support the work of the church. Alma learned she could leave a lasting legacy for ministry and still receive a steady income through a gift annuity with the Church of God Foundation.

Alma: "I met my husband Ralph at a state campmeeting. Later we both served on the student executive leadership for the state youth convention. Our lives became a partnership in ministry. Ralph passed away a few years back and I wanted to do something that could help continue the legacy of ministry into the future."

Alma met with a professional gift planning advisor from the Church of God Foundation. She wanted to do something that could support the ministries of the church. She was pleased to discover that she could do so and would also receive a good payout based on her age. Plus, there would be a charitable tax deduction and part of the income would be tax free.

Alma: "After Ralph served as pastor for a number of churches, he went on to become the field director for World Service. There he helped to raise the general funds needed to support all aspects of ministry for the church. I wanted my gift to continue to support the Lord's work as well."

Alma directed that her gift support the unrestricted portion of the World Ministries Budget. Alma has also included the Church of God Foundation as a beneficiary in her estate plan.

Alma: "I do find comfort in knowing that I can support in a small way the continued work of the Lord through the Church of God. God blessed Ralph and me, and now I have the opportunity to give back out of his generosity."
